Making a Meal of the Philadelphia Fringe Festival

The New York Times: Last Friday night, a group of about a dozen of us walked into a woman’s vagina. It was red, French-accented and soft. This was near the climax of “The Path of Pins or the Path of Needles,” a cynosure of this year’s FringeArts Festival in Philadelphia, which began on Sept. 8 and runs until Oct. 2.

The first line of this article is, “Last Friday night, a group of about a dozen of us walked into a woman’s vagina. It was red, French-accented and soft.” I mean, how could I not keep reading?? The Philadelphia Fringe Festival sounds super interesting, and like a wonderful collection of super experimental pieces. I love seeing people creating art that goes outside of the bounds of things considered “normal”. Seeing new ideas in art, entertainment, and theater is so exciting to me. A break from seeing another version of a play that has been produced for decades (no shame in that, and always cool when they put a new spin on it, but this stuff is wild and totally new). I wish I could’ve had the chance to go to this festival, but maybe another year. The combination of widely known artists and local organizations and creators in this festival is amazing.
