www.broadwayworld.com: Sis, an actress and activist in the theatre community, is calling attention to the erasure of trans bodies within the theatre and entertainment industries with the Trans March on Broadway on Monday, September 6, 2021 at 12pm. The location will be announced that morning. Guest speakers will be announced on social via @ucancallmesis. The lineup is subject to change.

It's so interesting that the comments of just one person can spark up an entire march. But that also shows the power of words but in contrast, the way that people can group together to make a change when offensive things are said. As a trans person, this is something that directly affects me even though I am not on stage, there can still be a huge lack of diversity and transphobia in the backstage world. I think it is also great the Sis’s comment is about
the unity of the trans community, not a call out specifically to Cameron Mackintosh, because as they say, “I know that he is not the only one.” It's important to create change through conversation and having a presence when your identity is being dampened. Sis’s comments saying that the march is a declaration were also very personally empowering and truly speak to the trans struggle. We are so often told to keep things quiet and that we are allowed to be queer but only within the tolerability of cisgender people.
