Stars shine for Kennedy Center 50th anniversary show
DC Metro Theater Arts: The Kennedy Center threw a big 50th birthday party Tuesday, showcasing a wide range of stars in its biggest performance hall packed with an enthusiastic audience.
Happy 50th anniversary to the Kennedy Center! The Kennedy Center has been such an amazing pillar to the theater, dance, and opera communities, it's lovely to see so many stars came out to celebrate its amazing milestone. One of my favorite things to watch on YouTube is the “Kennedy Center Honors” series – so to have the tables switch and have the people the Kennedy Center supports support them is really special. It's also amazing to see that this celebration had one of the most diverse performer line-ups. Having an establishment as prominent as the Kennedy Center be on the frontline of creating an open space for diverse performers and their stories is fantastic, and hopefully sets an example for other companies and establishments to follow suit. This was the official re-opening of live events for the Kennedy Center, which is a remarkable milestone in itself. It’s incredible having both Broadway and the Kennedy Center re-open.
