How Choreographer Sean Bankhead Became a Social Sensation
Dance Magazine: There's something about Sean Bankhead's choreography that moves you to your feet. Through intricate footwork, a twerk moment or a groove typical to Atlanta dance styles, he makes the lyrics, the melody and every instrument playing come alive.

Believe it or not, I love dancing! Haha. In fact, that was why I was intrigued by this article and the reason for which I subscribed to Dance Magazine’s newsletter. Now, what is perhaps more shocking, is the fact that I watched Normani’s “Motivation” (Offical Video) two days ago and commented on the choreography. Who would have thought Sean Bankhead choreographed the number– what a small world. Just as the article mentions, the reason I was amazed by the work of Bankhead was the way in which he “makes the lyrics, the melody, and every instrument playing come alive”. The movement looks so naturally planed, “so authentic to the music” says JaQuel Knight (choreographer for Beyoncé and Megan Thee Stallion).
On another note, and as I believe is the case with many of us attending Carnegie Mellon School of Drama, Bankhead associates his talent to the passion he has for work. The article, roughly based on an interview, mentions stories of Bankhead as a 6-year-old boy dancing for his family and friends. I guess hard work pays off!
