Lighting Plots for Moulin Rouge! The Musical on Broadway

Live Design: Lighting designer Justin Townsend created a lighting design for Broadway's Moulin Rouge! The Musical that combined a historic sense of turn-of-the-century theatre with modern lighting techniques. "The cueing is quite thick and complex and dynamic, echoing some of the movements in the film," he says. "The detail and precision of the lighting has vaudevillian and comedic-timing, creating, I hope, a sense of rich detail and precision."
