Expect incredible local talent during New Hazlett Theater's upcoming CSA Performance Series
Theater | Pittsburgh | Pittsburgh City Paper: Pittsburgh artist and musician Brittney Chantele's album A Fire on Venus, released earlier this year, earned the pop singer a spot at large festivals including The Three Rivers Arts Festival and People's Pride, as well as airtime on independent local radio station WYEP.

Having just received the New Hazlett Theater as a research assignment for Susan's class I felt it was pertinent that I read this article. Cunningham is able to shine a light on the upcoming CSA performance that the New Hazlett Theater is hosting. As it's 7th year hosting this community-centered event, the New Hazlett Theater is trying to encourage the careers of emerging artists. It's nice to know that despite their busy seasons they find the time to host and fund these acts. The variety of performers is also refreshing as it includes video artists, musicians, and even a puppeteer. Their vast interests and styles are promoted equally by a more traditional performance center which isn't the most common thing to see. Through doing this event the New Hazlett Theater is able to both introduce Pittsburgh to artists in their early phases and help these performers gain a feel for where they are and where they're going.
