Creating An Immersive “Live Colour” Experience With MIX®
Rosco Spectrum: Visual Artist Liz West recently presented her new light installation “Live Colour” in partnership with The Domus Group during Clerkenwell Design Week – London’s annual design festival showcasing emerging designs from leading industry professionals. Using numerous DMG Lumière SL1 MIX LED fixtures, Liz created a vast colour environment that provided a unique opportunity for thousands of visitors to experience what it feels like to be immersed in pure colour.

Wow - I think this is a really cool art exhibit and I think it was executed in a way that all can appreciate. The use of color to convey emotions as a language is brilliant. I am curious to understand the impression that this exhibit left on its viewers as this is something I have never seen as a display before. I also think that it is interesting the artist chose to immerse the entire empty room in the color for just above 20 seconds, the time it takes for the eye to adjust to its surroundings. This seems it will be very stimulating to the mind and I think it would be a fun experiment to recreate even if it is with different equipment.
Its fascinating to me that we can communicate with color even though each color has different connotations to us as people. I hope to see more exhibits like this in the future.
