Thematically this sounds very cool and immersive, but the fact that they're using an area of wilderness that they claim is already visited as a site of natural beauty worries me. As a culture we keep heading towards "enhancing" natural beauty or theming things that shouldn't be themed. Are we incapable of appreciating beauty at face value, without shiny new rides and theming to keep us interested? If someone purchased a portion of The Grand Canyon and decided to build a wild west theme park, people would be livid, because the natural beauty would be destroyed. This company claims that by building this theme park they are "enhancing" the natural landscape, but in reality they are destroying it. There has been a trend recently where we can't appreciate history or beauty without some sort of artificial element, and it's a set back in the efforts we've all made to preserve ancient monuments. These companies know they will profit from this, so the only way to stop destroying the environment is if we stop buying tickets and supporting companies who do things like this.
This resort sounds absolutely incredible. The dinosaur theme works so well for a number of reasons, firstly because dinosaurs are awesome, plain and simple. Secondly, the resort said they’re making a point to celebrate their “regional, natural beauty,” which is a strong direction to go considering the parallels between that and the preservation of natural history through fossils. Their added focus on their local environment is a unique component that I admire greatly. Educating children about environmental conservation in a way they can easily understand (in this case, through “touch pools” with local wildlife) is so important and clever, and will hopefully influence them to grow up as more informed citizens. In terms of the resort’s attractions, I think they cater very well to a wide range of visitors. Lazy rivers and roller coasters can draw in the old and young alike. I have no doubts this resort will be a huge success.
Most, if not all people like dinosaurs and the idea of these gigantic and prehistoric beasts. I love the idea of immersive themed environments and being able to dive into a completely new world. I really like the design that is shown at the beginning of the article, as well as the descriptions of some of the attractions described within the park itself, such as being able to walk around in the forests and come across dinosaurs. Although, I do think it’s sort of ironic that they are taking this big chunk of natural land and using it to create a theme park, but then having “touch-pools” to teach their guests about local conservation issues. It seems hypocritical to seemingly destroy parts of nature and then go on to tell people why saving nature is important. If a good amount of the profits from the park actually goes into helping the wildlife and land around them, then I don’t have a problem with it. Then perhaps it will be more beneficial in the long run. It’s like the big game hunting. While it seems counterintuitive to let people go out and kill wild animals, the profits from it actually helps to keep the environment alive and to help take care of the healthy ones in those environments. I hope this is what they’ll do. But aside from the environmental factors, I will be very interested to see what the park is like once it opens, and the way they’ll incorporate dinosaurs into the forests and waterfalls around them.
This is one of the most astonishing venues that I've attended for my numerous experiences. This place is spot on with the decorations. The overall experience from San Francisco venues was amazing! Had a fun and comfortable time here.
