'Fight Night' at Chicago Shakes is a funny show about politics — and you get a clicker to vote from your seat

Chicago Tribune: Here’s why you need to get out more and see international artists’ perspectives on our riven America and its fraught democratic processes. You will encounter things that no U.S. company would dare do.

I’m curious to know that the audience demographics have been at the performances of ‘Fight Night.’ I have a feeling those who are willing to openly subject themselves to what probably ends up as self examination on topics you were most likely unprepared for, are the ones who are already have at least begun the examination process on their own time. The bias in me really wants to write down that those who “should” be doing this are probably not the ones going, but we all need to. The fact that I was so ready to write that sentence shows that I could probably do with some digging into my true standings on perception and identity. I truly do wonder, though, who actually shows up. I wonder if those who are in the audience on days with a more diverse demographic discover more, if not at least different things, than those who may have attended with a narrower selection.
