My high school did a production of “The Secret Garden” in the spring of 2017, and it was one of my favorite productions we put on. The music scores are really great, and the eeriness of the ensemble in some of the songs was thrilling. It was an incredible show to be able to mix. I also got a lot closer to a lot of the other people on the crew of the show during the build and tech of it. I like reading about this other theatre’s experiences with putting on the production and how transformative and magical it was. It makes me remember all of my own experiences and memories from it. We also had some sort of fundraiser during our production. Some people were selling various flowers, succulents, and other plants during the run, and the proceeds from it went to something to help the public gardens in the community.
