Variety: USC students are calling for the removal of Bryan Singer’s name from the school’s Division of Cinema and Media Studies due to sexual misconduct accusations against the X-Men director.
Film students launched a petition on Change.org, which has garnered more than 1,500 signatures at press time in support of dismissing Singer’s name.

USC boasts one of the finest cinematic arts schools in the world, and as the article points out, this name change is far over due. Bryan Singer may have graduated from the school of cinematic arts, but his previous actions prove that he is unworthy of holding the USC name. Going back to when I said that this is long over due, he was first accused a year before I was even born in 1997 where he asked a 14 year-old extra to film a shower scene nude. This type of creepy behavior has obviously been condoned due to the obvious success he has experienced after the incident. USC is a school that has their issues here and there, but when it comes to being one of the worlds finest film schools, they have to ask more both artistically and morally, immortalizing Bryan Singer is not the legacy they want to set for young filmmaker. I'd highly recommend that USC listens to their student body, and removes the Bryan Singer name from their school if they still want to keep their title and reputation of being the dream school for filmmakers all around the world.
