My teachers from home keep urging me to put my portfolio online. An online portfolio is much more accessible and convenient, and it means you don't have to have your bulky portfolio on hand to show it off – if you meet someone by chance, they can view your work immediately. My biggest concern with an online portfolio, however, is the actual setting up of the website. The internet and computer technology is not at all my strong suit, and the suggestion of just taking a rainy day to set things up always seemed daunting because creating a website with all the proper content and appropriate aesthetic for a perfect portfolio surely can't be learned and done in a day. Yet the more I read articles about user friendly computer applications, the more reasonable that expectation comes. Perhaps I will just take a rainy, slow day (if that could ever exist), and create a site. I like that this program is very visual, over being code based, making it easier to navigate and use. Plus, they seem to offer a pretty high quality platform to create a website and host a domain, all for no cost.
