I had no idea that George Romero is a CMU alum. Of course, it's not surprising at all. I would be interested to hear about how the team got together and decided to write this opera. When I think of Night of the Living Dead, I don't automatically think "boy, that would make a great musical," let alone a great opera. I wonder how to pair arrived at the decision, and what the process was like for each of them. I also wonder what George Romero will think of this, and how much involvement he has had in the project, if any. Is anyone else from CMU involved in the production?
