Injured 'Spider-Man' Actor Makes First Appearance Since Performance Accident
NYTimes.com: With a dazzlingly wide smile and dancing bright eyes, the Broadway performer Daniel Curry greeted 200 friends and cast members from his show, “Spider-Man: Turn Off The Dark,” at a benefit concert on Monday night that raised $10,000 for his medical bills after a midperformance accident in August.

I guess I was living in a different bubble this summer, I had no idea that there was another accident on Spider-Man. Its amazing to me that such harm can happen and all they can say is it was human error. I do wonder what safeguards have been put in place to prevent this from happening again. You would think that where there can be human error in a mechanical situation there would also be computerized safeguards. Although you can't always guarantee the safety of artists whether it be by humans or computers, I would hope that I should not hear of another injury again on Spider-Man for some time now. Working on a high stakes show this summer it still amazes me about how many injuries I have heard of and that happen at Spider-Man. Hopefully all of these injuries will be in the past and it won't be remembered as a show that hurt so many.
