This relates perfectly to our topic of discussion in Technical Management early this morning regarding communication, and the role technology plays in it. As people continue to develop new technology that is constantly pioneering new ways that humans can communicate with each other, it is difficult to establish and keep a correct etiquette of usage for each one. There is a delicate balance between usefulness and professionalism, as well as communicating on a personal level. Texting may be convenient, but emails are much more professional and respectful; technology may seem easier to use, but the personal connections in the workplace are lost when there are no face to face interactions. Thus, as stated in the article, it is important to keep methods of communication fluid. What was used in the past may not work in the present, but may work again some time in the future. Open minds and adaptability are important when communicating within large groups and maximizing efficiency to accomplish goals.
