I'm actually still listening to the podcast now...It's really long haha, half an hour! Anyway, I think what Michael Wilkinson is saying is really cool. I love that he is so passionate about what he does and he's still excited for new ideas! Even though he came from traditional theater backgrounds, it's so nice to see how he likes to create modern new ideas and how he likes to incorporate the two. Like when he mentions how he takes opera to inspire him to design costumes for a comic book character! I think it's so interesting!
He also talks about getting inside the character's mind! I think that's something I love about costumes, the designer has to become the character and understand them because our clothes, though they do not define us, represent how we see ourselves and who we see ourselves being. It's so interesting and cool and I hope I too will be passionate about what I end up doing like he is!
