Vekoma: 100 years in motion

InPark Magazine: As Vekoma celebrates its 100th anniversary in 2026, the company has considerably more to recognize than being in business for a century. Its history is one of continual reinvention – from agricultural machinery and industrial steelwork to one of the world’s leading roller coaster and attraction manufacturers.

I fricken love roller coasters, they are truly my favorite entertainment and the feeling of being on a high speed rollercoaster with the wind whipping in your face is can not be replicated. To a degree though I think in light of new news in recent times roller coasters have been getting a bad reputation and people have started to be more fearful towards them. Six Flags: Magic Mountain a very famous long living roller coaster park over these past couple years and has had enough roller coaster accidents to strike fear into the public. As we get older and older it becomes harder and harder to ride roller coasters due to the forces you face or if people have had past injuries. There is this continuous study on how riding roller coasters can be so harmful for your neck and I think studies continue to gain traction as more rollercoaster accidents happen.
