MY FIRST EVENT OF THE YEAR 2026
Time Traveling in Costume: My group of ladies in the Historical Dressers had our first fashion show of the year at a new location: the New Frontier Senior Community. I was excited about doing yet another senior community and one of our models, Jeanette, lives there. She pretty much was a major part in making this a perfect event and having our fashion show as the entertainment for an afternoon tea for the residents there.

This seems like such a lovely personal hobby or job it's a little hard to tell from the article. I love to see people engaging in their hobbies and especially when it's something as unique as historical costuming I just think it's really lovely. Especially to see older folks just enjoying stuff that they like. I feel like online I see a lot of younger people really diving into unique hobbies but not so much older folks. I follow a few people online who do historical costuming and it's just so interesting to me the different places people wear their historical costuming. Like in this article they are doing an event to show off the costumes but also people who make costumes for renfairs or for cosplay, the variety that historical costuming is used for is super interesting to me. And also the different amounts of detail that different people include depending on how historically accurate they want to make the costume.
