L-Acoustics Announces Collaboration with AFMG on EASE 5 Integration, Enhancing Soundvision Workflow

LightSoundJournal.com: L-Acoustics announces a strategic collaboration with AFMG, developers of EASE 5 (Enhanced Acoustic Simulator for Engineers). The partnership creates a seamless workflow between L-Acoustics Soundvision, an industry-leading 3D acoustic modeling software that allows sound designers to predict and optimize audio performance with exceptional accuracy, and AFMG’s EASE, the brand-agnostic industry standard for acoustic simulation.

This is so cool! I never knew this kind of technology existed. Having something that can model sound in 3 dimensions to predict sound quality shows just how much the industry has at our disposal so that we can create the best experience for the audience members anywhere. What’s more, every new advancement makes our job that much easier and smoother. This rapidly advancing field is what makes it so exciting and interesting to learn about. On one hand some things haven’t change since analog sound mixing yet there is so much that once seemed impossible to do. Some of the features that were covered talked about things that I didn’t fully understand because I have not had hands on experience and training on the tech they are talking about. Despite this, this article captured my attention because I can’t wait to be at a place where it all makes sense to me and I have worked with the technology they are talking about.

Did I understand half of what this article was talking about? No. But that’s ok because I spent most of my time reading this article in awe of everything that I could understand and extrapolate. Sound is so cool and honestly it blows my mind how many new things are on the rise with regards to technology. I have no clue what any of this technology is or what it means but I really hope that by the time I graduate, I will understand what this all means and how I can use it to my advantage. I feel like especially in the sound industry, it is so crucial to stay up to date on all the new tech and ideas that come out of the industry because it is all so complex especially because you can’t really see any of what it is doing. I feel like of all the different design fields, it is the hardest to be good at sound design and engineering because we are always improving and upgrading as an industry.
