Reading through the list of these nominations, I am so pleased to see the American Repertory Theater’s Gatsby get all of the attention and praise that it deserves. I had the chance to see Gatsby last summer, and hands down it was the best musical I've ever seen. It was so poetic and beautiful, and everything worked together really well. all of the technical elements, all of the creative elements, everyone on stage, they all worked together to create something that was beautiful enough to remind me why I got into this industry. I'm so glad as well to see that Solea Pfeiffer got a nomination for her part in it, because she was truly jaw-droppingly amazing and deserves all of her flowers for that role. I think it's really unfortunate that there's already a Great Gatsby Musical on Broadway because this one is so much better, in my opinion. I think that the Great Gatsby Musical on Broadway is decent, but it doesn't capture the story that it's telling in the same way that the ART Gatsby did. I acknowledge that I am extremely, extremely, biased in this opinion, having seen one and only heard the other.
