I feel like the art directors guild awards are something vastly unspoken about. Art directors/production designers have crucial roles in the overall outcome and mood of films, television series, music videos, and generally all pre recorded media. In theater the production designers focus solely on one space which is the stage. But in pre recorded content, the world needs to be built in so many other spaces and mediums. Art directors outside of theater need to look over not only the physical space aspects and lighting of a production but also the cinematography and post production work, including the color correction and cutting of the media. I also love how these awards focus on so many different genres and moods. My personal dream is to become an art director a production designer for films and high production music videos. A Lot of these nominations seem to have obvious winners such as the Substance, Nosferatu, Dune, and Guess (but those are also just some of my favorites from this year).
