Before reading this article, I never knew that puppet-led musicals existed. Wakka Wakka seems like such a cool theatre company. The visuals are so well done. My favorite part about this is how well the lighting and set go together. It seems like the set is made out of a lot of sheer, layered string curtains, but I would love to know if that’s true/how they displayed the projections in such a sporadic way. I also love the costumes that the actors are wearing. To me, them having sparkles blends better with everything going on around rather than pure black. The visuals are beautiful and I love how they utilized so many different textures and materials to tell this story. I think it’s really cool that this show is advertised towards a large audience, ages 7+. I feel like nowadays, a lot of productions put on don’t really think about kids watching.
