The costumes for Elvis I felt like we’re really put together. Catherine Martin has such an interesting color palette. I really like this article because I feel like you could really see into her process and how she did the color palette from beginning to end. I felt like this really showed her as a designer. I also liked in this article they talked about the research process and what she did, and what others have done in the past. They talked about Elvis‘s jumpsuits and how they were able to Find the original designer and the original tailor for it and they were able to visit the BNK Enterprises and they were the ones who re-purposed the jumpsuits. This is really important because they were able to be historically accurate while still adding her creativity into it. I feel like that’s really important as a costume designer to have an equal amount of historicalness in some way and creativity.
