I had the fortune to see Meow Wolf a few years ago in Santa Fe, I believe their original location. Throughout the entire time I was desperately trying to understand the plot, the story behind all of the strange and magical goings on. Whenever I got close though some new room would completely throw me for a loop. It wasn’t until about an hour in that I finally understood that it wasn’t about the plot or the story or the characters. What it was really about was being in a dream made in reality. A man-made acid trip. It was incredible. I have used a lot of the inspiration I found there in art that I have made since then. I thought it was just a one off at the time. Just a funky exhibit in the desert made by artistic hippies but I am so excited to see how large it has gotten. Especially with this new CEO with such incredible credentials.
