London ushers in 2022 with innovative broadcast performance
Event Industry News: London welcomed the new year with a dynamic broadcast show that took place across the city, celebrating its diverse cultural heritage and spreading a message of hope and positivity for 2022. The display included extensive lights and fireworks as well as for the first time, live performances. Jack Morton, the global brand experience agency, created and produced the live show with the Mayor of London and collaborated with a talented team of creative and technical specialists to bring the show to millions of homes, via a live broadcast on the BBC.

I admire the creative team’s commitment and ability to keep the project and it’s location so under wraps. Regardless of Covid, people would have gathered to see this live. However, the creative team’s secrecy kept the public safe. It is sad to me that this responsibility falls upon the artists involved on the NYE project, but nonetheless kudos to them. I am interested in watching this to see the specialized drone work. A few years back I saw a drone light show in Orlando. Truthfully, I haven’t really seen or heard much about drones as a design element since that show in about 2018 and thought they had been a phase. I am really excited to see their use because I believe they could eb so useful especially given our current era of broadcast. Finally, I am also very inspired by the creative team’s collaboration with artists, networks, and companies across London.
