Arts & Entertainment Atlanta funds 10 organizations for downtown projects
ARTS ATL: Ten Atlanta artists and arts organizations have received up to $10,000 each from Arts & Entertainment Atlanta, a neighborhood activation and economic development project for downtown Atlanta. The funds, distributed in December 2021 for projects in 2022, will support performances in downtown.

Atlanta is such a rich hub of entertainment and art, it’s good to see these artists and organizations have the opportunity to create amazing projects after the difficulties of 2020 and 2021. The list of recipients for the funding features a wide range of uses, from educational courses to documentaries to dance performances. Assane Kouyate’s event stands out to me, as it incorporates many elements and an entire neighborhood. The article mentions specifically putting more of a focus on funding performing arts groups, which makes sense as live performances have been severely hindered for the past 2 years. Fredalyn M. Frasier is quoted at the end of the article as saying she wants the application process to be easy and have many applicants, so I am curious to know what the application requires/asks for and what Arts and Entertainment Atlanta is looking for in potential recipients, or if there is a certain time frame that these projects have to be completed within.
