Small But Mighty: Deploying A New Rig At A Small-Town Summertime Festival

ProSoundWeb: Despite all the hassles and stressors that come along with it, summer festival season is my favorite time of year to be working in production. To me, it’s always been a unique pleasure to spend a warm late summer evening enjoying food and drinks with friends and family while watching a great band perform.

This summertime festival concept is an amazing way to intersect community with the arts. Many people think that the arts are more for upper-class people, or those who are nerds. But in reality, we as a humans love to listen, groove to, and dance to music in a community setting. The fact that the author and his friend volunteered their time to put on this outdoor rock concert, and even coordinated sponsors, is a testament to their motivation. Sometimes, projects have great ideas but really don't get off the ground due to the amount of work. However, this festival was successful due to the motivations of the author and his friend. I thought it was really cool that the author of this article was able to get RCF to sponsor the sound equipment in the show, and that it worked amazingly well for the performers and audience. I love when good sound is achieved in a difficult setting, especially outdoors.
