Your first look inside Warner Bros World Abu Dhabi - in pictures

The National: It would be easy to be cynical about Warner Bros World, the new indoor amusement park on Yas Island due to open on July 25, at a cost of $1 billion (Dh3.67bn). It is, after all, a commercial enterprise promoting one of the world’s biggest entertainment companies.

My childhood dreams just came true! I grew up living on Scooby Doo, Looney Toons and Tom and Jerry. And now there is the real life incantations of it all! Unlike other theme parks, Warner Bros World Abu Dhabi seems different from anything I have been to. It has a Disney Land vibe, except it looks to portray a more immersive environment. When you are at Disney Land or Universal Studios, you know you are in a theme park. You can tell theme and rides are trying to push you in the right direction, except it isn't a full immersion. Whereas Warner Bros World looks to act differently by making the facades and lights and everything around you feel like you are in Gotham or Metropolis. I would love to see how it compares to the Universal and Disney's technical aspects with animatronics, rides, lights and effects. Warner Bros has such a diverse and expansive collection of material to base rides, attractions and actors on, their possibilities are endless. It will be interesting to follow their growth as a global theme park and see how they end up comparing to the big world leaders.
