But it’s tough to keep up with the Internet. More manufacturers are uploading their latest wares to the Web before or in lieu of refreshing library binders, while more clients come in hand with ideas scoured from social media sites.

I use Pintrest all the time to storyboard my ideas for a design or a project I want to do. I also used it a lot when I would talk to costumers about what kind of interior design they are looking for. The only thing about Pintrest is that it doesn't always fulfill the full vision that costumer and I try to understand. This project seems like a fantastic to solution to my problem. Less printing, less pinning, less mess. Collages have been an amazing tool since the 50s and will probably always be used in the future. But this app takes a designer's ideas a step forward. You able to drag and drop design ideas right where you want them. Molding and shaping as a designer pleases is an amazing thing. Others may argue with me, but I like the idea of this app. However, I would need to mess with it to fully understand how useful it really is.
There are other apps that are made for this, but have not been as successful. As Hannah said, Pinterest is great for having a place to put all of the ideas you've found while searching for inspiration, textures, colors, crafts, etc. Another one of these is Polyvore. Polyvore is an amazing way to group together ideas of things and pictures of them, it even collects them and allows you to collage and edit them to a point. What is missing from these is the ability to truly edit the picture you're trying to use and to grab it effectively from another site. Basically what has been lacking is the flexibility in the program to allow you to customize what you've wanted to see. I would love to use this app for times when I am doing things in my own home, and I can only imagine how amazing it would be for a designer to get a better idea of what they're putting together without needing to find physical examples of each item.
Pintrest is my favorite thing ever. I use it all the time when I'm plotting out what I want to do for a project and I must admit that it is sometimes really annoying to have to scroll past multiple pictures to compare two ideas. I frequently wish I could reorder them easily and get rid of all the extra Pintrest things and this app looks like it would fix all these problems. I would definitely want to take it on a test run to see how much easier it makes the idea process. It would have to be pretty good because you already have to spend time looking for the pictures, so if this app takes a while it would waste more time.
but it is definitely something I would love to try out.
I myself have started using Pinterest to create inspiration boards, but thats exactly what they are boards, not collages. Collages allows the creator to be free with their design scale and arrange images in any configuration imaginable. I think that this software is going to be well received and used by a wide variety of designers. I downloaded the app on my iPad and the interface is super user friendly allowing me to quickly crop and scale images to my liking. Although the app is user friendly it's definitely geared towards architectural design with furniture and other architectural elements.
I've found that with Collaging, I almost feel inhibited by internet images. However, sites like pinterest have made it helpful to store all of my brainstorming and inspirational images in one place. This summer I did a lot of "collage boards" for the interior design and textile firm that I worked for. This new program might have actually been a big help because it looks like you can actually create boards in the program. It would have been a great tool for when I was creating collage board after collage board. I do agree that this is not an app for collaging. There needs to be more freedom in the type of arrangements available in order to consider it a program meant for collaging.
