Kennedy Center President
www.yourperformancepartners.com: Earlier this month, Deborah Rutter spoke to the weekly luncheon of the National Press Club (NPC) in Washington, D.C. Thanks to the transcript posted on NPC’s website, we almost feel like we were in the audience [applause] – except we’re still hungry! [laughter]
Rutter took on the prominent role of Kennedy Center president in September, and is the first woman to hold that position

I went to high school in Northern Virginia, and as a student interested in theater, the Kennedy Center was a fantastic resource both for the calibre of performances that are produced there, as well as the learning opportunities that having such a well established arts center provides. When I heard that Deborah Rutter was taking on the position of president, I was very glad that a woman would be in such a prominent role within the Center. I believe she will bring much to the center, and will continue to open doors for women in the arts.
