Too bad you have to register to read the full article, but what I saw from the picture and first paragraph it looks like a ton of planning an thought went into the lighting design. The design for the US open seems center around patriotism and the American spirit, with intense red, white, and blue lighting. Christien Methot is the lead designer at Design One who deals with a variety of clients ranging from TV, special events, sports, concerts, wedding fashion shows, and so much more. Lighting has so many applications and is used in every aspect of life. In the future, lighting will continue to become more prominent within sports.
