The new line of Irwin tools sound really impressive, I am not going to lie and say I know a lot about these tools but the bit I have used similar tools on carpentry calls make these look desirable. The article also talks getting more power with less effort which is something I really love to hear. Contrary to popular belief I am not unbelievable string and have a hard time using these types of tools because you need much more strength then I have to make them work. I would be interested to test these tools out and see how user friendly they are and if someone like me would benefit from having them.
This is certainly a step forward in the world of hand tools. There are some tools that haven’t changed very much since they were first created…..decades ago. So for once a small and subtle improvement has the ability to make an incredible impact. I’ve been using the same pair of basic, fairly cheap end cutters for almost 10 years now and while they still work reasonably well, they’ve never had an incredible cutting ability or been ergonomic. I can say that I’m definitely going to add at least the end cutters to my gig-box if not some of their other products as well.
Leverage is great! I always say I can do things that require a lot of muscle (even if I think it may be a bit much). These tools see great for people like me who know how to use tools, just sometimes lack a bit of the strength required to use them. I hope more companies do this for their tools like wire cutters, so that I don't feel bad about myself every time I'm unable to do something on a job. Leverage is important people! I may get some of these for myself.
