burlingtonfreepress.com: The Weston Playhouse regularly stages dramatic scripts, but on Aug. 28 endured a drama of its own when the remnants of Hurricane Irene struck Vermont. The storm and resulting flood caused substantial damage to the professional theater that's been producing plays in southern Vermont, along the banks of the West River, for 75 years. The story of the Playhouse, from the devastation of the flood to the company's triumphant return to the stage five days later, is as dramatic a tale as any playwright could dream up.
