This has nothing to do with the Actors Equity/Broadway League part of the article, but I wanted to first speak to the photo that they provided right under the headline of the piece. I think, because I have been so isolated from the following of the coronavirus, and I do not have any family members or friends that have been affected by it, it seemed very far off. The board in that picture really freaked me out - because the amount of numbers - Total Confirmed, Total Deaths, and Total Recovered, was baffling. It’s good to see that Actor’s Equity is taking measures to support the union members - and provide them with information about the virus and its spread. A lot of misinformation has been spread around who and what causes the virus, and while this article mentions that it hopes for a building of community, has quite frankly caused a lot of racial divide. Far more than the spread of the virus, I have read articles about people being attacked for “causing” this virus. I wish this would help us create a community, but our response is too divided.
