This seems to be a great, forward-thinking event! The themes (green manufacturing, sustainable living, and future wood) seem to be buzzwords more than key phrases, but I’ll take it if it means a real consortium about how we can make the industry more sustainable regarding lumber usage. I wonder about the specific examples cited, and if there were any barriers to entry or specific standards to meet to be considered in high regard as ‘eco-friendly’. That being said, I like the range of innovations being presented - equipment design, material applications, management strategies, and so on. To have more than 850 booths at this event is pretty cool, and it just goes to show how permeating environmental sustainability can go in the entertainment industry, potentially. I’m intrigued by the machines. I poked around Wood Taiwan’s website, and found some really cool ones like a four-sided planer/sander, various CNCs, and a carbide saw grinder.
