I think this is quite a bad situation, as much as I love tait and what they do, it’s becoming a monopoly at this point and it’s just not good. Especially with construction, you need lots of bids and competition for who is going to do it the cheapest, and they are destroying that potential when they keep buying up groups, especially ones as big as Silent House. Tait and Silent house essentially did the same thing when it came to building, and while they didn't do the automation side too much, there is now one less company you can get a bid from before going with a specific company to build your tour, and there are now potentially less jobs, however the acquisition data isn’t out yet fully with who they are laying off. I am not sure what entirely is merging, but just the name merging with Tait is not a good situation.

When I saw this announcement earlier this week, I was both very excited and very troubled by the news. TAIT and Silent House have very clearly had a very close partnership over the years, and seeing them merge was not really a shock. Both companies are incredible at what they do, and both need each other to survive. The designers need someone to execute their visions, just as the people who execute visions need someone to dream them up in the first place. However, there is some concern that with the new company encompassing both the design and delivery of major tours and attractions there will be less room for competition with the new vertically integrated entity. On one hand, the process from design to delivery will be smoother than before, and on the other hand, that gives TAIT a significant advantage over the competition. Regardless, it will be interesting to see the outcome of this merger, and how it changes the industry.
