Brands Swap the Runway for Pop-up Events During NYFW 2026

www.eventmarketer.com: Twice a year, the fashion elite gather in Manhattan for couture runway shows and exclusive soirees during New York Fashion Week (NYFW). But sponsors and brands are increasingly showing up with approachable experiences that help democratize the high-profile event and unchain those velvet ropes. From Sensodyne to Jinx to the Idaho Potato Commission (no, really), see what kind of experiential action was in store from Feb. 11-16 during the fall/winter edition of NYFW 2026.

This is the first time I learned about NYFW. I am so attracted to the events listed, and I would love to experience them one day. Seeing how fashion brands interact with Google, creating immersive experiences for visitors, and also creating food is amazing and super creative. I really like the concept of Jinx’s cat match. The concept of “green flag” really pushes people to earn something like a credit that they will feel rewarding. I love how they introduced rescued cats and gave anyone who adopted a cat one year of free cat food. Scrolling down, I feel like these fascinating events will continue forever since they are both entertaining and meaningful to the visitors. Also, combining fashion arts with AI is a bold try, crossing art and tech. I love to see more innovative and immersive experiences like this.

Another thing I have noticed changing in the fashion industry is how brands and designers are presenting themselves online. I have been on the fashion side of YouTube for a while and have noticed an increase in the amount of influencers invited to fashion week events. I have also noticed an increase of brands and fashion week designers positing using formulas that make them seem more like the smaller influencers. I am personally all for this as it includes more accessible access to information on how these designers work and insight into the design processes and challenges that are faced. While I myself am not a fashion or even a costume designer, I have been known to dabble in sewing and designing clothing for myself and it is incredibly rewarding to see these professionals encounter problems like the ones I have and it is inspiring to see how they work to find solutions to the problems.
