I was very intrigued by this tournament of sorts. I expected them to just be rating brand new fixtures, but they included old ones as well. For example, the VL1 is apparently grandfathered in every year. I appreciate that they include it for reference and that it always holds a special spot. Coming first has to have its perks. I wish this article listed a bit more about how it ranked each light. And why the ones who took the lead earned their spot. They gave descriptions of every single light, but not exactly why they were better than the ones they passed. I’m just now realizing that this “competition” hasn’t actually taken place yet, they’ve only created the bracket. In that case, it makes a little bit more sense. But I do still find this article a bit confusing and wish that they had explained that a little bit better. I’m now excited for the results to come out and find out who wins. I also hope they do explain their grading criteria well so that the results are not arbitrary.
