Blackmagic Shows Off Complete Immersive Video Experience for First Time at NAB 2025
No Film School: As a follow-up to our first IRL check-in with the Blackmagic URSA Cine Immersive camera back at SXSW last month, which showcased the URSA Cine Immersive in a lineup next to the rest of the current URSA Cine lineup, the Blackmagic Design team was finally able to fully showcase the immersive video experience as it's meant to be viewed here at NAB Show 2025.

Just wow. Crazy. I’ve honestly thought hard about a product like this that mimics the human eye. We got the Meta x RayBan collab, which films like your typical phone camera, but this does blow it out of the water. The way it was described in the article really makes it sound too good to be true. Zooming into some of the footage taken, though, you can really see how it’s like a human eye. We’re talking 8K footage, 90FPS!!! That’s crazy. I’m curious what computers can handle those big files? Also, what is 8K even used for? It’s really cool that they’ve partnered with Apple and their Vision Pro. I’m curious about the part of the article where they claim that this can combat some of the problems of AI. What do they mean by that? All in all, my 8-year-old self would be gleaming at the creation of this and I’m excited to see how this gets utilized within the entertainment industry.
