Adobe Showcases Premiere Pro’s Generative Extend and Media Intelligence at NAB 2025

No Film School: While NAB is always a whirlwind filled with exciting new brands, products, and innovations, there are few spots on the Las Vegas convention center floor that seem to remain familiarly the same. The Adobe booth, set up where it was in years past, was a reliable place to visit to check out the latest tools and features in Premiere Pro.

Generative AI in Adobe Premiere Pro is honestly killing my laptop, but regardless. I don’t really know how I feel about this. I’m sure once I get deeper into video editing, I’m gonna utilize this tool when trying to answer the frustration of “God, I wish this video was just a couple frames longer!” I like that Adobe didn’t only add questionable AI into Premiere, one that challenges artistic integrity. This genuinely seems like a tool that people would wish was there and use. Of course, like everything, there are still bad things about AI (environmentally and morally), but the “generative extend” tool is one of the better inventions I’ve seen using AI. As for Media Intelligence, it’s the same tool that you’ve seen in other editing softwares, where you write a description of the clip you want and they generate one. I’m curious to utilize this tool and curious to see where they source these components from within their videos, since so much exists on public domain for artists to use.
