Glitchmachines Skein Offers ‘Unconventional’ Take On FM Synthesis
Synthtopia: Glitchmachines has introduced Skein, an FM synthesizer that they say is “focused on experimental sound design and electronic music production. ”
Skein features 4 operators with skew controls and noise, as well as a flexible modulation matrix with per-cell modulation, per-operator feedback and eight user-definable algorithm presets.

While I am not totally familiar with the old technology surrounding FM synthesis, listening to the sample sounds, these sfx sound very well suited to the sound design of the increasingly popular digitally oriented/ technologically advanced productions we see in our industry. I can hear these sounds being used in shows about space travel and AI, as well as filmed sci-fi media. As I have never used a synthesizer before, I didn't fully understand the instructions on the new features, but they do look fun to play around with.
