LightSoundJournal.com: London’s O2 Academy Brixton, one of the world’s most celebrated and iconic music venues, has raised the bar on its live experience with a permanent L-Acoustics K Series professional sound system. This Grade II listed marvel of architecture, featuring a unique 140-foot domed ceiling, Art Deco interior, and a signature stage, has anchored countless legendary performances since its 1929 debut. From The Clash to Coldplay and Chappell Roan, the best in live music have graced this hallowed stage.

I wonder what specifically went into choosing which company to source speakers from and how they went about engineering their arrays to make sure they had one of the best venues. Why did they make the decision to switch out their old speakers and upgrade to K1s? I find the topic of speaker choice really interesting because there are so many brands on the market that it is really hard to separate quality from trash. I feel like the other thing is that speakers are so unique to the intended purpose. For example, some speakers are specifically made for live concerts whereas others are made for theatre or live sporting events, etc. I think the decision science that goes behind these choices and finding the best fit for their specific purpose and audience to fit their venue is really intriguing and I really want to learn more about what goes into those choices.
