Walkabout Mini Golf everywhere!
Amusement Today: On the heels of the release this week of their gravity-defying latest DLC course Walkabout Mini Golf: Upside Town, Mighty Coconut—an independent entertainment studio based in Austin—today announced plans to vastly expand the universe of their popular Walkabout Mini Golf virtual reality game including an innovative creative collaboration with Meow Wolf for a transformative new course coming in Q3, the addition of an AR-powered version for iOS coming this summer, and deals to bring the title to hundreds of arcades in the location based entertainment industry.

Virtual reality mini golf sounds really fun! It’s so cool to watch VR develop more and more; I remember seeing the first VR games when I was in middle school and it was just starting to become popular. It’s crazy how far we’ve come from terrible, poorly-made VR games based on PC games to stuff like this. It’s also funny, in my opinion, how VR has somehow recreated or revived arcades, because for a while I guess video games put them out of business, but now that VR systems like this require specialized equipment, they’re coming back! This game and more importantly the new DLC sound so interesting. Mighty Coconut and Meow Wolf really went above and beyond with this game. They really made this game so unique and visually appealing, and they even added stuff like easter eggs and collectables to a golf game. I hope someday I can try this game myself.
