I find it so incredible that the program will feature a piece by Pittsburgh Ballet Theatre's artistic director Susan Jaffe, which pays tribute to Balanchine's legacy and the impact he had on the ballet world. The piece works as a reminder of the importance of the performing arts in our culture at large, and how they can bring people together to share in a unique and memorable experience for everyone involved in the show as well as anyone in the audience. The fact that a ballet organization is still robust speaks to the dedication of those involved and the program is a testament to the skill and artistry of the dancers and choreographers, and their dedication to preserving and advancing the legacy of Balanchine and other influential figures in ballet history. I have never been the biggest fan of Ballet but I still find it’s overall effects to be fascinating.
