I had never heard of Fused Filament Fabrication before this article. I find it to be very interesting in the wider context of how far technology has come in even just the last ten years. It seems as though technological advancements have been snowballing into the future as of late. If you consider how terribly slowly humans have advanced throughout history and how incredibly far we have come in the last 100 years it is very interesting to consider. This specific technology is so fascinating in that regard as it is something that even 20 years ago would be the type of thing that would be found in a science fiction book instead of in real life. This would have such an interesting application in modern day theatre landscape. Even though a good portion of theatre is a little bit behind the times technology wise I think this would especially have an impact on the smaller theatre’s that get crushed under the budget.
