Disney Imagineer Shares Her TRON Lightcycle / Run Journey
Disney Parks Blog: I’ve had the honor of working on TRON Lightcycle / Run presented by Enterprise, and I could not be more thrilled to welcome you to the Grid. As we prepare for this attraction’s opening day, I’m taking some time to reflect on my journey working on TRON Lightcycle / Run.

Disney is one of those companies that is extremely talented, inspiring, and intimidating all at once. I love going to DisneyWorld and love to read about all of the ways in which Disney makes the magic come to life in their parks and their movies. For example, with the TRON Lightcycle Power Run, you can tell that Disney is no joke. People on the team rode this ride more than 600 times just to make sure the experience was incredible and what they wanted. That type of dedication is shown in everything that Disney does because even while standing in line you are part of the experience and story. Every little attention to detail, just like how these teams went to Shanghai to learn from the engineers over there and bring what worked and what didn’t back to Florida just shows how Disney uses all of its resources to create the best experience possible for their audience. I will forever be in awe of what Disney does and how they constantly accomplish their goals and blow people’s imaginations out of the water.
I was hoping that I would be able to go on Tron Lightcycles when I went home over Spring break but I sadly didn’t have time. My whole family has been on and say it is an absolute blast! I really love reading the articles that Disney Parks Blog posts about the women working in the company leading important projects, and them sharing about their process and progress. I know this is a ride already existing in the international Disney park (I believe in Shanghai,) and essentially is just copy/pasted in Orlando, Florida. Nonetheless, it is still a huge coaster that is incredibly advanced in its own right. “The entire team is so committed to making this attraction the best it can be; some Imagineers have ridden more than 600 times just to ensure the show is perfect.” This fact is baffling to me! Sure, I’d estimate that they ride it a couple dozen times, but over 600 is wild! It goes to show how much attention to detail and quality checks that disney puts in their attractions.
