Celebrating 60 Years of the Stuntmen's Association with Bob Herron
Variety: 2021 marks the 60th Anniversary of the Stuntmen’s Association.
Founded in 1961 by Loren Janes, a stunt double for Steve McQueen, and Richard Geary, a double for Robert Vaughn, the idea was to professionalize the world of stunts.

I am a total wimp, and watching videos of stunt people doing their jobs makes me feel like even more of a wimp. I wish I was brave enough to be able to do flips and run away from explosions and all the cool stuff you see in film, but I'm already too scared to make phone calls. When Bob Herron said that he was still doing stunts in his 90s, I was so shocked. You have to be in such good shape to do those things, right? Good for him. I figured that what drew most people into this career path is the adrenaline and that seems to line up with what most people said in this article. Again, even when I'm just watching videos of people doing stunts for films, I feel a bit of the adrenaline. Hollywood and the general film audience should absolutely give more credit to stunt people, especially anyone who is a fan of action films or superhero movies. These movies really would not be what they are without stunt people.
