I chose to comment on this article because I personally need more positive news, and I think this shows exactly what should be happening in the United States- organizations with the money need to donate it to causes that will help the industry they profit from bounce back. The BRIT awards donated 54K pounds to the Stage Hand relief fund, and I think it is great that the organizations who profit off of the stage hand labor are giving back, and it makes me wonder if MTV or the TONY award have made similar donations in effort to provide relief to the people who build events for them. The government has proven to be less than useful during this stressful time and so I am really happy to see that someone is trying to make an effort to make this time easier on those who put live events on for the rest of us.

The BRIT Awards donation to the stagehand covid crew relief fund is a perfect example of how the theatre industry comes together to support each other in difficult times. In and amongst the bad news of the covid 19 pandemic I have rarely seen good news peeking through. However I have seen lots of the theatre industry coming together in new and creative ways to support each other and others in the entertainment industry. Seeing this generous donation is one of the good things that I have seen the industry doing to support the people who are now out of jobs or low on work because of the closing of theatres and canceling of live performances. The support shown by the industry is one of the reasons I chose to go into the theatre industry. Their constant support and kindness towards all members is one of my favorite things.
