Every time I read an article that talks about diversity in the entertainment industry, I do not know why but I feel so relieved. Maybe because to me, it is a way of knowing that the industry is changing to reflect each and every person who is or has been in the past, a part of the industry and has contributed to the success that the entertainment industry enjoys today since long ago.
Black artists have come a long way in that they are finally being given the recognition and acknowledgement that they have deserved from the beginning. And with this article, it seems like the tide is only going in the right direction, as more opportunities for Black talent in television are being purposefully made. Yes, that will come with its own set of challenges, but at least is a step for the right, and that is what matters.
I believe that as long as people stay committed to this goal, all challenges can be overcome.
