This program sounds absolutely amazing! I have never heard of them specifically before, but I have heard of other programs like this and know incredible success stories from the children that participate in them. With everything still mostly on pause for children around the country, now could be the perfect time to learn how to play music. I am not a music playing expert by any means, but I imagine teaching someone how to play an instrument online could be easier and much safer as opposed to socially distanced or online teaching for someone who is singing. It could be amazing to see so many children who learned how to play an instrument during quarantine, especially if they would have never had the opportunity or time to learn before the pandemic. We need to be connected to each other now more than ever before and music seems like the perfect way to achieve this; music is the ultimate universal language.

Woo hoo music education! I know a ton of people from high school who have found an outlet through music, and really developed a talent for it. I think almost every person in the world holds a special place in their heart for the music they enjoy, but what I think a lot of people often do not think about are the musicians behind their music. Arts programs are the first ones to get cut, we already know this, but those programs are essential for building musicians who create our music. For school-aged kids, music programs are often essential for diversifying their education, giving them an outlet, and for actually enhancing their ability to learn in other subjects. To see an established organization donating so much money to a program dedicated to enhancing music education for children is really special. That money was probably needed, appreciated, and will further be put to good use.

Seeing this makes me so happy! It is great to see that much larger companies are providing so many artistic opportunities for today's youth. Especially in this climate with the pandemic and fall in entertainment, it sheds a lot of light on the future. Honestly, it is a way of investing to make sure that art, specifically music and sound design, in this case, lives through the pandemic and will have a prosperous boom. $500,000 is a lot of money, but the article also mentions that the Little Kids Rock Organization has also received other funding reaching almost 2 million. Art is often seen as a luxury or a side hobby, and especially in times like this, it is so easy for art to be cut at the educational level. Seeing how organizations providing music education to the youth definitely shows that there is promise for success in the near future.
